Knoppix was a real eye opener for me, installed faster than Win 98 OEM release for my H.P. Configured in a flash I was online faster than my first Win 98 install. Needed a couple of commands from the gurus to setup the user account as the power of root GUI utilities scared the crud out of me. A couple of commands from the command line interface and I was safe and off and running with a user account on the internet :-) Once you've got this O.S. working, mail, newsgroups, browser and dialer then you can at leisure discover the power of the command line and there starts the learning curve. Never messed with Redhat. --- Platinum Xpress/Win/WINServer v3.0pr5a* Origin: BBS Networks {at} www.bbsnets.com 808-839-6036 (1:10/345) SEEN-BY: 633/267 270 @PATH: 10/345 106/1 2000 633/267 |
