The Drake Equation
CM>> N=R(fp)(ncfl)(fi)(fc)L
CM>> R - Rate of star formation
PF> Not yet known.
CM>> fp- Fraction of stars with planets
PF> Completely unknown.
CM>> fc- life that will develop high technology
PF> Guess.
CM>> L - Longevity (live long enough to admit signals to be
CM>> detected)
There was a little more involved than just guess work, go to
www.seti-inst.edu/drake-eq.html for a further explanation of how some
for these fractions were based on.

I believe on a link to the above page there is evidence of the planets
that have been found.

Well I don't or to that fact no one has absolute proof of any life on
another planet. But it is safe to assume that it has to exist on some
other planet in the millions of galaxies out there. Now whether or
not we have been visited by any other than meteorites and or comets is
another matter.
