Hmmm, I simply bought a Panamax Max 1000 for about $220 and
plugged it in. All hum disappeared and I got the added bonus of
guaranteed surge protection for my equipment (up to a couple of
million dollars! They'll even replace the Panamax if it takes the
blow.), line filterting (no more CB's interferring with my
stereo), and a system "turn on" power sensing cord that when
plugged into my pre-amp's curteousy outlet, turns on/off all
my equipment from remote control as if it was a receiver!
Even the subwoofer....
And best of all, it was just a matter of plugging it in. No
installation of new breaker boxes or outlets required. :)
