Hmm ... permissions can be a bugger, wasplaying with chmod, and chown, 
jumping around from console to console, and didn't realize the console I had 
changed to was not the test fixture but the BBS system via telnet, totally 
screwed it, had to rebuild it from the ground up, what helped was that I 
managed to save most of the config files ... and that the day before having 
to setup the zonegate here. :-((
