BL> My $10 2nd-hand VLB EIDE board has peculiar things written BL> on it, especially "IDE MODE" with a choice of four settings: BL> 600ns, 500nS, 400nS and 240nS. It came set at 600nS so I BL> left it, but what does it BL> mean? Should I set it to 240nS? BG> No idea. What does the "manual" say (or didn't you get one) ? These are essentially the Mode thingos to the IDE drive as it says, but with the timing numbers quoted instead of saying PIO MODE 3 etc. That series of his are MODE 0-3 BL> I started off with the idea that all I had to do was plug the CD on BL> the end of the cable and my BIOS would work. Whata mistaka to maka! BG> You still need drivers. There are a few bios with CDROM support in the bios. Uncommon tho. @EOT: ---* Origin: afswlw rjfilepwq (3:711/934.2) SEEN-BY: 711/934 712/610 @PATH: 711/934 |
