Hello Andrew!

Ok, to be honest, am not experianced enough to detail the
technical reasons, but I can give the reasons I chose this one
over others.
1) Multiplatform support
2) Decent upgrade policies
3) Excellant tech support (no charge!)
4) Excellant reviews on code optimization
And lastly, a Feb 94 article on C++ compilers where Watcom came
out on the top in almost every single test of program size and
execution. This to me was more important than ease of use and
compile times.
Watcom is better known as a 'mechanics' tool than a developer
according to the article. It was mentioned that you should
develop your code under another tools, but compile the end
program with Watcom. v10 offers better development tools than
previous versions, so that does not hold like it did under 9.5
For its price, it is the best bang for the buck. Not quite the
best overall according to JBD, but it was the best _I_ could
afford . IMHO.
Later!
