I've sometimes wished for "shop air" for those things -- take a
hose with a blowgun on the end of it,  stand outside (or in a doorway or
whatever) and just blast away,  until you didn't see dust coming out any
more.  It's amazing how much crud can accumulate inside of one of those
supplies and still work...
