AUSTRALIAN PROFESSIONALS are set to talk their way into the next 
major phase of the technology revolution following a national Voice 
for Windows applications distribution deal announced here this week.

Sydney based Hi-Tron has begun a national recruitment program for 
resellers of Kolvox's automated speech recognition (ASR) packages 
OfficeTALK and LawTALK which operate on Kurzweil's Voice for Windows 
platform.

OfficeTALK for Windows allows users to dictate, fax and edit 
documents using their voice. LawTALK is the speech recognition 
solution customised for the legal profession.

These applications can within hours empower computer keyboard 
rookies, such as solicitors and medical specialists, turning them in 
a short period of time into 50-60wpm operators with hardly the need 
to raise a finger.

OfficeTAlk and LawTALK is on the market in Australia with a 
recommended retail price somewhere between $2000-$3000 dependent 
upon confguration `fwhich will mean rapid market acceptance given 
the end-user benefits.
