Hi Scott,
Have been absent for a while because my BBS link was stolen.
I just found this new one and I have discovered lots of
excellent new music. Will be posting as subjects come up.
SR>6. Anekdoten: Nucleus -- I wanted to give this one time, because I
SR>remember how slow Angalgard was in growing on me. But I'm sorry, I
SR>just can't get into this one. In fact, I don't really even consider
SR>it prog at all. It's alternative with a mellotron slapped on top of
SR>it. The singer's voice annoys the crap out of me, and much of the
SR>album strikes me as being hopelessly dissonant with no good reason.
SR>Is Sweden the new center of Prog? God, I hope not.
Well, same reaction here. I bought this one with very high
expectations, based on _Vemod_. I was so disapointed that I
got rid of my copy. So sloppy and grungy... I could be convinced
that a different drummer appears on _Nucleus_. I have to admit
that they broke away from their Crimson influences and found their
own sound but that's just it. Their new found sound is not for
me I'm afraid.
Good to be back,
Paul C.
