[The previous message continues here.] 2/4 ************************************************************************ Sujet: Future evaluation of Kermit under Maximus/2 Date: Sat, 08 Apr 2006 12:36:53 -0400 De: Bicephale Pour: Sean Dennis Copie: Michel Samson Hi Sean, SD> ...Kermit working under Maximus/2... There were no doubts in my mind that it would work as juge.com - which used to be a reference in this matter - had it done right a while ago... I tried to search for traces of previous posts and i found this: http://public.sogetel.net/bicephale/MSK.INI ;-) The SogeTel account has been closed for quite some time now (i switched to ElectronicBox) but i guess it hangs out there completely forgotten... You'll find URLs refering to both `C-Kermit v5A(190)' for `OS/2' (the very last 16-Bits build) and `C-Kermit v5A(191)' for `OS/2' (the last 32-Bits one). This MS-Kermit initialization file was meant to address optimization, security and versatility. I vaguely remember the C-Kermit syntax differs somewhat... SD> ...log in and try it (if you wouldn't mind). Really, how can i resist an invitation like this?! ;-) SD> I hope you haven't left completely yet. I didn't leave, it's the hobby which left me! I'm willing to contribute in my own field of expertise (if i may say so) but i must face it: it's become an annoyance these days to discuss file transfers. I've been playing with "Live" Linux CDs lately and i'll be able to evaluate your Kermit configuration using both DOS and Linux... I briefly experienced DOS and Windows emulation and i begin to foresee a future CD for BBS use that could be based on it (a remote possibility at the moment as i may never be able to acquire and apply the skills it requires). SD> My telnet address is bbs.outpostbbs.net SD> (outpostbbs.darktech.org still works too). As you may know, i logged in a few hours before my repost of March 27, 2006. This entry remains part of my {Commo} dialing directory (thru RLFossil)... It would be nice to have the edited `Protocol.CTL' version published when it is ready; i'm not quick these days but you can be sure i'll visit OutPost!
