subject: New King Crimson on the Horizon

Hi All,
I am a subscriber to the Internet mailing list for King Crimson,
called Elephant Talk. In any case Adrian Belew, Robert Fripp have both been
posting there considerably in the past month or so....
Fripp recently announced that in March 1997 DGM will release a new
live box set in the same thread as The Great Deceiver. The new set is called
Epitaph and it is the live history of the first KC, with Greg Lake.
The set will be comprised of 4 discs. The first two will be
available on the release date in Mar 1997. These 2 discs will include
various live bits of the 1969/70 KC. These include the first show live at
the BBC in May 1969 as well as the last show with Lake in San Francisco. DGM
has cleaned up the recordings and they apperantly sound better then ever.
The 3rd and 4th discs are 2 concerts that were previously widely
available on bootleg. The first being the 09Aug69 Plumpton show. And the
second being the 07Sep69 Chesterfield UK show. The setlists of each are
below:
09Aug69 07Sep69

                                Improv.
Fripp and KC are holding a premiere party and playing in London on
15Mar97 and release should follow. The 2 later discs are of lesser quality
then the first 2 so Fripp and KC may not release these 2 in stores but they
will be available via mail order.
The set will also include a large book similar to the Great Deciever
box set.
I hope your all as excited as I am for this set,
        .\\ike .\\cCartney
