subject: Hobby/Kermit/Walls - 1/4

Hi Sean, 1/4
Hi everyone,

This message is a bottle i throw to the sea thinking that correspondance
can be lost during re-installs quite easily - you wrote me about using a
completely obsolete Kermit protocol driver once again, after all!!! I'm
afraid plugging PC-Kermit or Opus Kermit by uncommenting a corresponding
ARCHAIC line in some Maximus/2 `Protocol.CTL' file is part of what i see
as a deterrent when it comes to using Kermit, to say the least. This is
one reason why i attempted to cooperate with a number of SysOps whenever
possible since the late nineties then came up with MSK.INI, years ago...

Some FidoNet repositories seem great at retaining memories so here are a
few links and reminders i post to your attention so that you and/or your
peers can use it when you feel ready, at any point in the years to come:

As you can see, patience is a virtue in such a field, euh... Adding any
new point to the underlying reasoning i've already expressed would sound
futile so lets just move to the last reminder, for your own convenience:

Sujet: Kermit works under Maximus/2!

 Pour:

Michel,

I found out how easy it was to get Kermit working under Maximus/2 - I had
all the stuff I needed all this time. I just extracted a single EXE to the
main Max directory and uncommented an entry in Max's PROTOCOL.CTL. If you
want, log in and try it (if you wouldn't mind). My telnet address is
bbs.outpostbbs.net (outpostbbs.darktech.org still works too).

I hope you haven't left completely yet. :)

Later,
Sean
