I find that Frakes is one of the few Star Trek actors that totally embraces
the fact that he's part of the "family" now. Instead of trying to shed the
typecasting, he's revelling in it. The money doesn't hurt either, I suppose.

I agree that Brent Spiner is an excellent actor, but I think he may have done
Data for too long to seriously do anything else... in Independance Day, even
though he played a weird scientist, I noticed several Data mannerisms that
constantly reminded me that he basically is that character. I wish him luck.
I hope the next movie has a more balanced treatment of the cast instead of
focussing mostly on Picard... unfortunately that's not likely to happen if
they are paying him the rumored amounts that I've been hearing.
