Hi Larry,
I had problems [crashes] with the SIO2K on the eCS 1.1 installation CDs,
until I realised that if I un-REMMED the line in the SIO2K-block that
only mentioned C-A-D problems, it worked without any problems
whatsoever. I did this on every installation by editing the config.sys
before the first reboot, by electing to use the management console, when
offered as an option *during* the installation [i.e. not at the
user-selected installation-menu ].

I have used the original SIO[1.60d] previously, ever since that was an
option with Warp, including eCS 1.0 GA, as I had no success whatsoever
with the SIO2K edition that came with eCS 1.0 GA, so used my own SIO
there in lieu of com.sys.

Try the eCS 1.1-provided SIO2K with the following line activated :

DEVICE=?:\eCS\boot\unbhsio.sys

On several different motherboards I've *never* had a trap or lockup or
any other comm port problem with the above configuration.
