| subject: | Lousy lines? |
FM> Rotten connect earlier this morning, multiple CRC errors on all of the 8 FM> days' worth of messages waiting for me since I last had a working system. PE> First of all, it's got nothing to do with lousy lines, as there PE> are EC modems on either side of the lines. If errors are getting PE> through to your app, it's likely due to something else, e.g. a modem PE> bug, or a serial port bug, or a windows bug or a telix bug etc. Yes. PE> There is nothing I can do about any of those PE> things, as they are all likely to be at your end. Nope, not if its actually a wart in your current modem, or the mode you are using it in, like enabling fax calls. PE> Otherwise everyone would have the same problem, as the connects PE> are all the same to me (except for potential modem bugs). That sentence combined with the previous one is just a massive brain fart. Its quite likely some residual wart in your modem that also produced the same effect with me on some calls. Havent seen any lately tho. I dont recall they ever happened when your modem didnt have incoming fax calls enabled tho, assuming its still setup like that. @EOT: ---* Origin: afswlw rjfilepwq (3:711/934.2) SEEN-BY: 711/934 712/610 @PATH: 711/934 |
