Jim,
That book reference I gave was in response to Steve's question about 
what the "shutdown" byte was, not a specific BIOS reference - and it was 
a lot more expensive than $80.  You would very probably have been able 
to find a .pdf version of the manual for your BIOS with a search on Google.
