NB>> And we've been back into the single digits for lows.... long-range,
NB>> highest highs look to be in the 40s for a while... and there's that
NB>> major snowstorm heading our way at the moment... At least we've got
NB>> our power back, and heat.... :)
RH> Helps to have the power & heat.....I've been watching the news reports
RH> about the storms coming in. We had a dusting of snow on Sunday and
RH> rain earlier today but not anything like what's predicted for the
RH> northeast. We're supposed to have days in the 40s/low 50s and a few
RH> more nights in the mid/low 20s this week--January weather in March!
And we had March weather in February.... go figure... I'm glad we kept
power and heat during that major snowstorm... we weren't going anywhere
Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.... when things finally subsided in
the afternoon, Richard started the dig-out... Got the driveway cleared
and his car dug out by the evening, along with getting up to church to
do some of that shovelling out... left my car to do Thursday morning
before I went out for my appointment.... Since then we've had light
dustings of snow, but nothing major.... and temps have been all over the
place.... got up to 50 yesterday, today it's highs in the 30s, I think,
and lows tonight in the teens.... and then climbing back for the
weekend....
RH>> Soft foods go down easy in a hurting mouth. I remember when I
RH>> had my wisdom teeth pulled--got home from the hospital (had
RH>> been done under a general as they were all impacted) and Steve
RH>> opened a can of vegetable soup for lunch. The vegetables felt
RH>> rather hard, even tho they'd been cooked to mush. Good thought
RH>> but probably would have done better with just broth.
NB>> Fortunately I didn't really have much pain.... just didn't want
NB>> to push the issue.... I think mushy vegetables wouldn't have
NB>> been a problem for me that night.... I was ok even with the
NB>> slice of cucumber... :)
RH> Sounds like you did Ok. I had all 4 teeth taken at once, they had to
RH> be cut out. It was done in early December, took me until late January
RH> to be able to eat everything without hurting. No Fu's in the area at
RH> the time.
Ouch... your experience was definitely worse than mine.... Admittedly, I
think I did get off pretty easy... I had friends here expecting me to
still need soft comforting foods by the end of the week... :) My friend
Deb suggested we go out for congee on Friday... which we did, as I quite
like congee at any time, and it's not all that available... But she was
thinking in terms of my not being up to anything chewier... (G) We had
the congee, and then also shared some other fare at the White Swans
Asian Caffe.... :)
RH>>> We've liked them from the time they opened up. Looking around,
RH>>> I've seen at least one other in town but we've not tried them
RH>>> out. They're (now) closer, used to be, the other one was closer
RH>>> to where we lived. I guess we keep going back to the one because
RH>>> we know it's good.
NB>>> We tend to do the same thing.... once in a while, especially if
NB>>> with the impetus of someone else that likes the other place,
NB>>> we'll check out other, similar, places.... :)
RH>> When you know good, you tend to stick with it. Especially food. (G)
NB>> But of course... ;)
RH> But, it's also fun to try new places from time to time. I was
RH> debating getting the beef bulgogi at the Korean place the other
RH> day but went with another, tho less often ordered, spicy pork
RH> instead. It was good. (G)
Yup, sometimes one goes with the favorite, sometimes one tries something
new on the menu... or a less-often picked choice.... One can get quite
the long list of favorites that way, though... especially at favorite
places... ;)
