Hi Alexander,
You mentioned to me on 21 Nov'96 - 18:43:
AB> It sounds like the engine is running out
 AB> of fuel. A sticking needle/seat
Sounds like that to me also.
AB> carbs that clips to the needle, and hangs
AB> on the float, so that the needle
AB> will pull off the seat when the float
AB> level drops (This spring was missing
AB> on my parents car, which threw me for a
AB> bit since it would sometimes starve
AB> of fuel (keep an eye down the carb
AB> throat, but not directly overhead, and
AB> watch the fuel spray) and othertimes, it
AB> would flood severly that fuel would
AB> pour out of the vents) But it would
AB> always start again. Ignition and fuel
AB> delivery where ruled out before I went poking in the carb.
AB> How is your fuel delivery at the carb
AB> inlet? Maybe a weak fuel pump that
 AB> can't keep up.
I forgot to add.. we replaced the fuel pump also.. forgot to add that
to my list. Have looked down the throat observing fuel spray, etc. The
fuel input is fine.. and is not flooding out. Also thought of vapor
lock but adding heat shields makes no difference.
We'll keep puttering along!! Thanks for replying!
