Thanks for your response.  I actually discovered this when I dug into those
old, dusty programming texts, I've got on the shelf.  I've worked arounf
the problem for now by using doubles instead.  This offers enough precision
to carry through correctly for my application's needs.

A few short questions, if you don't mind:
        Are there OS/2 versions of COBOL or PL/I?
        Will hardware assited BCD be offered on PowerPC machines?
