PE> Bob, do you want me to hook you into the Z3DIFF and NODEDIFF PE> TIC echos? They get one file in them each, each week. They PE> won't serve any great purpose, except to give you some live PE> TICs. BFN. Paul. ROFL! Thank you but no thanks. I'll make do with dead TICs. I wish you were kinky for Windows instead of UNIX; I might be able to get some value out of this... Why don't you want to run a BBS under Windows/unix? That's a *real* challenge, and you'd end up with something useful you could run across the BBS/Internet. I think it's time you faced the fact that Windows is here to stay, Paul... ... [later ... I have a problem] The format of your TIC file (as shown in TMLjoin) is: Area SPECIALR Origin 3:711/934.12 From 3:711/934.12 File BORING.ZIP Desc An incredibly boring file Pw wallyburger Is this right? Are you *sure* there is no name in the TIC? It would make more sense if the Origin field was the fido number and the From field was "Bob Lawrence". As it stands, I can identify the sender by the point number or the whole fido address, but what happens if you want to give access to someone who is not one of your points? ... [later still...] I'd like to send a message back to the sendee. How can I do that? TIC is automatic, but there are many ways it can fail. You don't give a stuff if it works or not, so there's no point in sending you messages, but it would be nice to send back a report to the sendee, to let him know if it worked or what he did wrong. This would be very useful for Dieter, as long as I used short words and simple sentences. I'm hoping it will be quick enough to do online (1 second or less). Can I just put a message in a directory and have it sent off with the mail?
