If you are inquiring about home audio I was able to eliminate ALL the
little electrical Gremlins in my home by running four new dedicated high
capacity lines directly from the breaker box to the wall behind my system. I
ran each line in its' own conduit and grounded each one all the way back to
the box. I used "hospital grade" fixtures (orange plugs) that only cost a few
dollars more each, through the local hardware store (5 or 6 times as much
through an audiophile catalog for the same thing).
A few months later I further isolated these lines by installing a second
breaker box and moving the audio lines as well as the new lines I installed
for my computer gear.
It made all the difference in the world! No more problems when the frig
kicked in or the central air turned on etc! I can run a drill in the kitchen
and never see a bit of interference on the A/V gear, where before it would
bring about a loud long hisssss.
I believe the whole project cost about $250. As prices go these days, that
is an inexpensive tweak, and has bought me a lot of peace of mind!
Cheers,John
