You have an old chkdsk which has not been properly upgraded. I'm sorry I
don't remember more about it, but I see the problem too rarely.
On you boot drive you should have both chkdsk.com and chkdsk32.exe, the
former being a stub replacement (for the original chkdsk.com) that merely
calls the latter. Some people also seem to need a special device (chkdsk.sys
???) loaded in config.sys, but I haven't had that since I upgraded Warp
3/Connect to FP 40 in 1999.
