We use a product called PC-Duo. This is a really great product that saves me
a
lot of miles every day. I can connect to another workstation (or Server) on
the other side of the partition or the other side of the world. The other
system can be NT, Win95, Win 3.1 or dos.
I can connect in the background and make changes to files (or just look at
them) or connect and have their desktop on mine.
I can use it in "Shared" mode - We can both use the mouse or keyboard at the
same time.
I can use it in "Control" mode - Only I can drive this way.
I can use it in "Watch" mode - I can just watch what they are doing.
I can also run it in "Show" mode - That is me sending my screen to 1 or
multiple users at the same time. I could teach a class this way if I wanted
to
I suppose.
The client machines have to have it installed on their machines before you
an
connect to them. We use it with TCP/IP as the transport protocol. Others
re
available but I can't remember which ones.
I am not at my normal workstation this week as I am in a training class all
week. If you want more info on it I would be glad to get it for you when I
m
back at work. If you want more info email me at work. The address is:
