Hi, Matt. -=> MATT MC_CARTHY wrote to JIM HOLSONBACK <=- JH> FWIW, this year I am particularly proud of my older first cousin, JH> Berry F. Rhoden, who was on the Pusan Perimeter in Korea in 1950. He JH> was prominently featured in an article in the Sunday paper magazine JH> section "Parade" on 11/7/04. In the picture on the cover, he is JH> second from the left on the bottom row. The cover may currently be JH> seen by going to JH> www.parade.com JH> If anyone is interested, the full article is to be posted on JH> 11/15 at http://archive.parade.com/2004/1107/1107_korean_war.html MM> Will have to check that out! Unfortunately, the article is now posted at the above URL, but doesn't include any of the photos (then and now) from the cover or in the article. If you or anyone else here is interested in seeing the photos, just send me an email at jim.holsonback{at}juno.com, and I'll send you a photocopy as it was published. In the interim, I have done some more internet research on my cousin, and there is a more complete description of what he went through during the 8 days or so between when his company was first over-run and when he finally made it back to US forces as described in the Jul/Aug 1997 edition of Naval History magazine, "Corsairs from Heaven", written by Navy CPT Diane Diekman. If the link below doesn't work, just search on the article title. http://ddiekman.tripod.com/id58.html - - - JimH. ...
