On 09/02/18, Matt Munson said the following... MM> It was a teenage curiosity for me to buy a licence for the software. It MM> took me until I was 37 to buy a licence for WC7. MM> I was the same way.. I loved logging into WC boards as a user, but had already committed to the Commodore BBS world. When I became the Co-SysOp of my User Groups BBS which ran WC! I jumped at it.. Not knowing anything about the software or for that matter a PC, the SysOp gave me the manual to WC3. I read that thing cover to cover so many times I could do anything with it.. BUt what could I do remotely? He then said you know this stuff better then me, so here take the software. He gave me the original disks. I couldn't do much with them when he gave them to me.. When I finally bought a PC I loaded up the software and played and played, but since he was still running it for the user Group I never put it online. Besides, I was running an Amiga board by this time. When Win95 came out and WC5 was released Santronics did the unthinkable, they sold it for a rediculously low price and I bought.. Now? I can't see spending $300 for something that I can do with a free BBS software. Mystic might not be fully done, but SynchroNet is and I run that software also.. Oh well.. I still love WC! I just may put up that old DOS board sooner or later.. --- Mystic BBS v1.12 A39 2018/04/21 (Windows/32)* Origin: The Wrong Number Family Of BBS' - Wrong Number ][ (1:267/157) SEEN-BY: 57/0 153/250 226/100 229/426 267/800 317/2 3 393/68 633/0 267 280 281 SEEN-BY: 633/412 712/132 620 848 770/0 1 100 340 772/0 1 500 @PATH: 267/157 800 770/1 712/848 633/280 267 |
