In a message of 27 Apr 98 mark lewis wrote to me:

Obviously in law in most countries, a person is innocent until proven guilty. 
I take the same attitude with life on other planets and the tooth fairy. I 
will believe when I see proof. 
Until then: 
 NO tooth fairy without proof; 
 NO intelligent life on other planets without proof; 
 NO guilt without proof.
Is that simple or what?
