I see. Well, that's an interesting approach, but I also see many
possibillities for caveats and other problems. Do you know if this
work-around is already implemented in the upcoming 3.0 ?
Now we've to convince IBM to work out a new (32-Bit) interface for the
file-systems and to move the caching (including memory mapped files
capabilities) into the kernal. This would generally speed up the system
IMHO. And of course - even for now (with Warp 2) I just can't believe that
PM is already at it's maximum speed level. :)
BTW: (sorry for being off-topic, Peter, won't do it again) A friend of mine
(phone 218-729-0950) is now in Duluth (IL ?). He needs a local
FidoNet-link. Could perhaps someone in the "neighbourhood" help
him please, as I can't do it from over here ? :)
