I would hope that the states wouldn't do this (at least I'd hope that *all*
of them wouldn't ), but I don't think there's anything in the Bill
of Rights preventing it.  I think, though, that most state constitutions
mirror the Federal constitution with regard to the 1st Amendment.

Do you read the Constitution differently w/ regard to the ability of the
various states to enact religious laws?
