Short answer; I am using version 5 with the patch, it works fine.  I 
have used System Commander for a long time.  I tried OS Select when SC 
had an acknowledged problem with OS/2 on one machine.  OSS will do 
everything SC will do and more.  It has not caused me any trouble.

I have a download of version 8 that is a Win32 file.  I have not gotten 
around to doing anything with it.
