Most of these are pendulum driven, having 1 or 3 weights that hang from the
bottom on chains, which you must pull up each week. I don't think I've ever
seen a windup clock.

I found this ad in a magazine the other day, it may be what you are looking
for. I happened to notice the term "regulator" in the ad, which matched the
term in your message. Not sure what that means, but here is the ad copy.
"Rare 19th Century Viennese Lantern Style Regulator Clock"
"The classic Viennese Lantern Clocks were originally created by the
"Grossuhrmachers" of the Black Forest during the 19th century. to individual
order.
Now, private collectors (only) are invited to acquire this exceptional
replica, superbly crafted by the Hamilton Clock Company. Solid brass
precision movement, with Westminster chimes.
The cabinet is mitered and coped fine wood construction. In your choice
of solid mahogany or solid walnut. Dimensions are: 45 inches high, 12 inches
wide, and 8 inches deep. Priced at $750.00. This edition will be strictly
limited to 1500 pieces.
Call 800-233-0281, Ext. 175 to subscribe, or for further details. In
Pennsylvania, call 717-394-1761, ext. 175."
The ad included a color photo of this gorgeous clock. The ad also indicated
purchase was by subscription - meaning so much a month. Or you could always
put it on VISA or pay for it all at once. Since you have a decent job,
David, affording this should be a piece of cake, and it does look like a
quality item. "Exactly what the doctor ordered", comes to mind. Let me know
how it turns out.
