Thanks for the tip. I have a much beloved workhorse Dell Dimension E310 which
is darned near old enough (I got it on a "deal" back around the turn of the
century) to be considered a classic ... it sat in its box for about three years
before I ever uncrated and set it up - when my old ME (then W2K) box went tits
up. It runs XP Media Centre and I am finding it hard to get stuff to work with
that these days .... not to mention that the cooling fans etc. are beginning to
moan and groan. I have a W7 box to which I transplanted HyperTerm by copying
the .exe and .dll files to a thumb drive and sneaker netting them to the newer
box. But, my W8.1 laptop is problematic. I will definitely look into Syncterm.

Too bad it's such a bitch setting up ethernet or USB or wireless on my Amiga.
