Hi Kevin,
*Which* access point are you trying to use to load LVMGUI?  The access 
from the icon in "Setup" I have found works differently from the access 
via Drives-context menu "Manage volumes . . ", and on some systems does 
give a lockup - which does timeout here eventually - I think related to 
fonts and possibly also to default JAVA version.
