| subject: | Hard Drive for New System |
Hello Jim, we were saying !
JH> In case of the 80 GB drive, looks to me like he would be best off
JH> to upgrade to an OS which will support NTFS.
First, get me an email so I will have your new addy.
Being of limited knowledge in this regard I can only say
that NTFS might be a fine format but it limits me in "repairing"
my mistakes. No DOS access, I left on a limb. For that reason,
I have gone back to FAT32 on all my HDs. Once, I got stuck with
a programme that would not all go away and I would, in FAT32,
just drop to DOS and gleefully Deltree the whole thing, then go
to Regedit and clean it all up. Not so in NTFS.
Also, I was in the habit of partitioning large HDs, I
could not find any huge benefit to this and now I keep them
whole. No hunting around, no Search for any one PRG.
My inputs !
The Barnstormer says...Bye !
