I agree that there are vast rip-offs in the industry, and I own quite a few of them. :-( But as things have developed during this thread, I am convinced that we are talking about two entirely different critters (at least, I hope we are). But still, the issue is what kind of modem are we talking about. When you go on line with a dial up modem, are we dealing with the same frequencies that a DSL modem uses? I dunno.
