David, you are correct in your anylasis.  Reagan spent the Soviets into 
bankruptcy by forcing them to try and keep up with the arms race. Down 
came the curtain, and it has taken about 8 years for those nations to 
be able to join in the purchasing of foreign goods. Clinton is riding 
the coat tail of Reagan's efforts and claiming credit for the good 
economy we are now experiencing. Clinton has done absolutely nothing to 
improve the economy other than NAFTA, and we all know what that cost 
the American taxpayer, not to mention the lost jobs to Mexico.
