yo justin, not quite, but what i've done for stocks a-d (so far) is use
parity + to rename them in lower case wit yankee type names to save space
eg ColesMyer then for pref/option types which are issued as
"subsets" of for eg ColesMyer I remane then in capiatls thus CML
PA that way they have some meaning as some issues are incredibly long and
meaningless otherwise with names like BHPNAPRXBA or whatever. i have also
got almax prog not to auto create but to ask me what i want to call them.
with prefs/options its easy CMLPA becomes CML PA. but if there was a new
stock issue which i didn't know the name of eg CML i'd call it cml
(lowercase0 that way i know it's anew issue whose name i'd don't know for
later editing/renaming...ie when i've got time, graham committi in melb
subscribes a mag which includes asx new stock issu info, i must get around
to doing so too...don't know if this long winded answer is what you were
after/or of any help but.......regards
