NB>>> inches, even if they stick around... In fact, I'd like
NB>>> them to stay, protect the plants from the winter, and look
NB>>> pretty... :)
RH>> While it looks pretty, it's nice. OTOH, dirty snow isn't so
RH>> great to look at, and the longer it stays around, the dirtier
RH>> it gets, especially in cities.
NB>> That's what the small dustings of snow are for, to clean things
NB>> up... :)
RH> No, actually they just cover over the dirty spots so you can pretend
RH> they don't exist. (G)
[shrug]... That's cleaning things up, at least for this situation... ;)
Good enough to just not see the dirty part... ;)
NB>>> One always tends to plan more than there could possibly been
NB>>> time for for such occasions... wouldn't want to run out of
NB>>> things to do, after all... ;)
RH>> Thought I was going to--on the first day I realised I'd not cut
RH>> enough of the white fabric I was using. I had enough other things
RH>> to keep me busy tho, and when I went home, I found the rest of
RH>> the white. Brought it in the next day & finished cutting what was
RH>> needed. I'm going to try to get the top finished over the next
RH>> few weeks, then go back to QoV projects.
NB>> That worked out ok after all, then... :)
RH> Quite so. This quilt is from a picture I'd seen in a quilting supplies
RH> catalog. I'd bought a piece of fabric that I liked, not sure what to
RH> do with it until I saw the picture. Took some time to do the maths but
RH> it'll be a pretty quilt when done. Wall hanging or snuggle under on a
RH> cold day size.
Sounds nice. :)
RH>> Much better for me overall. I don't like working with dirty
RH>> hands (from munching) so will refrain from the mindless
RH>> munchies when concentrating on a project.
NB>> Also very good thinking... :)
RH> Helps me be more mindful of what I'm eating too. I try to track the
RH> carbs somewhat; it's easier to do if I'm not eating all the time. (G)
Fewer things to jot down (or mentally list)... :) Back in the days
when I went to Sit'N Stitch sessions for our local Embroiderer's Guild,
there were always munchies out... I found it easier to resist them once
I realized that they were usually upsetting my stomach as well as
messing up my hands.... ;0
NB>> True, indeed.... Was switching between the two different actions
NB>> sufficient to keep things happy...? Or did you also need to take
NB>> breaks from both....?
RH> There were enough breaks--pressing, catching up with some of the
RH> ladies I'd not seen in a while, admiring other's
RH> projects.................
Lots of good breaks mixed in, then... :) And a fun time was had by
all... ;)
RH>>> Definately faster, but not worth investing in one for home use.
RH>>> We have a bread slicing guide; it does a credible job of making
RH>>> sure the slices are uniform but we still have to do the work of
RH>>> slicing it.
NB>>> For home use, one doesn't have nearly the volume that the bakery
NB>>> would have... I'm sure those machines don't come cheaply,
NB>>> either... :)
RH>> Undoubtedly not cheap. Other point is, where would we store it? (G)
NB>> That, too... :)
RH> Always a catch...................
Yup. :)
NB>> ... Did you say that MNP means Modem Needs Pizza?
RH> We recently saw a sign for a new business here in WF, also in Raleigh,
RH> called MOD Pizza. No idea what the MOD stood for so I suggested
RH> mushrooms, olives and durian. Steve disagreed, but hasn't come up with
RH> anything better.
Daikon, maybe....? (G) Oh, I know... Dairy...! ;) Hopefully not
Dog... (G)
RH> We're half thinking that since they are advertising "fresh and
RH> fast", it could mean "made on demand" but I like my idea better. (G)
I saw where Jim confirmed that "made on demand".... Besides, how
common is durian where you are, anyway..... (G)
ttyl neb
... Regardless of what you may think, this is NOT a tagline.
