Hi Nancy,

NB> NB>> A few inches isn't too bad to shovel out.... and things look so
 NB> NB>> much prettier... :)

RH> Agreed, I'd rather look at an inch or snow that will soon disappear
RH> than many inches that need shovelling.

NB> Once they've been shovelled, I don't mind looking at more inches, even
NB> if they stick around... In fact, I'd like them to stay, protect the
NB> plants from the winter, and look pretty... :)

While it looks pretty, it's nice. OTOH, dirty snow isn't so great to
look at, and the longer it stays around, the dirtier it gets, especially
in cities.

NB> NB>> Makes sense... the bread machine won't put the strain on you,
NB> NB>> either... Hope you enjoy the quilt retreat, too... :)

RH> I did, and got a fair amount accomplished, tho, as always, not as much
 RH> as I wanted to. (G)

NB> One always tends to plan more than there could possibly been time for
NB> for such occasions... wouldn't want to run out of things to do, after
 NB> all... ;)

Thought I was going to--on the first day I realised I'd not cut enough
of the white fabric I was using. I had enough other things to keep me
busy tho, and when I went home, I found the rest of the white. Brought
it in the next day & finished cutting what was needed. I'm going to try
to get the top finished over the next few weeks, then go back to QoV
projects.

RH> Got to have a piece of a yummy home made
RH> cheesecake that the husband of one of the other ladies made. I went out
RH> for lunch with the group one day but brought my own otherwise & Steve
RH> brought me supper a couple of times.

NB> So you were able to keep a good control of what you were having...
 NB> good thinking... :)

Much better for me overall. I don't like working with dirty hands (from
munching) so will refrain from the mindless munchies when concentrating
on a project.

RH> The arm held up for several sessions of using
RH> the rotary cutter--usually spaced those between times
RH> of sewing so as not to put too much of a strain on it.

NB> Sounds like you planned that out well, too, then... :)

Had to, I knew I'd be in a world of hurt if I didn't.

NB> RH>>> And they can slice it for you, faster than you can slice it
 NB> RH>>> yourself.
 NB> NB>>> There is that.. :)
NB> RH>> Done almost before you finish asking for it to be sliced. (G)
NB> NB>> ALmost. :) Of course the machine slices it all at once, not
 NB> NB>> one slice at a time... :)

RH> Definately faster, but not worth investing in one for home use. We
RH> have a bread slicing guide; it does a credible job of making sure the
RH> slices are uniform but we still have to do the work of slicing it.

NB> For home use, one doesn't have nearly the volume that the bakery would
NB> have... I'm sure those machines don't come cheaply, either... :)

Undoubtedly not cheap. Other point is, where would we store it? (G)
