NB>>> same... The inflection on my comment was that it was barely a
NB>>> white Christmas, just enough to still call it so... ;) Didn't
NB>>> last much past Christmas, either...
RH>> Better that you don't have to shovel it out tho. We had a few
RH>> Christmas days in AZ that started white but turned green within
RH>> a few hours.
NB>> A few inches isn't too bad to shovel out.... and things look so
NB>> much prettier... :)
RH> Agreed, I'd rather look at an inch or snow that will soon disappear
RH> than many inches that need shovelling.
Once they've been shovelled, I don't mind looking at more inches, even
if they stick around... In fact, I'd like them to stay, protect the
plants from the winter, and look pretty... :)
RH>>> for various supper meals.
NB>>> And the arm's been ok with the chopping....?
RH>> So far, so good but not done anything too strenuous. Going to use the
RH>> bread machine to make a loaf tomorrow, only because we don't have
RH>> enough flour to do two loaves in the KA. Quilt retreat the latter part
RH>> of the week so I want to do the bread before we run out. (G)
NB>> Makes sense... the bread machine won't put the strain on you,
NB>> either... Hope you enjoy the quilt retreat, too... :)
RH> I did, and got a fair amount accomplished, tho, as always, not as much
RH> as I wanted to. (G)
One always tends to plan more than there could possibly been time for
for such occasions... wouldn't want to run out of things to do, after
all... ;)
RH> Got to have a piece of a yummy home made
RH> cheesecake that the husband of one of the other ladies made. I went out
RH> for lunch with the group one day but brought my own otherwise & Steve
RH> brought me supper a couple of times.
So you were able to keep a good control of what you were having... good
thinking... :)
RH> The arm held up for several sessions of using
RH> the rotary cutter--usually spaced those between times
RH> of sewing so as not to put too much of a strain on it.
Sounds like you planned that out well, too, then... :)
RH>>> And they can slice it for you, faster than you can slice it
RH>>> yourself.
NB>>> There is that.. :)
RH>> Done almost before you finish asking for it to be sliced. (G)
NB>> ALmost. :) Of course the machine slices it all at once, not
NB>> one slice at a time... :)
RH> Definately faster, but not worth investing in one for home use. We
RH> have a bread slicing guide; it does a credible job of making sure the
RH> slices are uniform but we still have to do the work of slicing it.
For home use, one doesn't have nearly the volume that the bakery would
have... I'm sure those machines don't come cheaply, either... :)
