From: "Chris Antos (Exchange)"
i understand, but consider this list of filenames, if you type "re", or
even "res":
address.txt
fortress.txt
pressure.txt
resume.txt
i have experimented with non-anchored searches with filenames, and it
hasn't worked nearly as well as i had thought it might. i don't know of
a macro which will do what you want, but i think even if you found such
a macro you would be disappointed with it.
i'm wondering, are you thinking of this scenario?
file1.txt
file2.txt
file3.txt
and in the EditFile prompt you type "file" and then hit , and you
have to type "file" all over again? if that's what is actually bugging
you, i do have a macro that fixes that so that you don't have to type
"file" the second time. the same macro also let's you type
for the picklist, or to autocomplete with the next filename that
matches what you typed, completes to the previous matching
filename. the macro is FNEXP105.zip, available at
ftp://ftp.semware.com/TSE-Pro/fnexp105.zip
hope this helps!

Subject: I-Search in EditFile()
Hello,
One of the great things about TSE (version 2.5) is incremental search
within
PickLists.
But...
Is there anybody who know how to set off the _ANCHOR_SEARCH_ in
EditFile()?
What i mean is that i like the I-search like the CompressView buffer.
Any
keystroke that matches will be found anywhere in the line.
Within EditFile() or PickFile() the search string must be at the
beginning
of the line. If every file of the 243 files in the list begins with the
same
4 char's it's not practical.
Maybe there's no need to make a lower level macro with the lList()
function ??
Or maybe has somebody a macro that does the thing?
Thanx.
Pieter de Ruiter.
