Not sure what else to check then. I wasn't having "pauses" during boot, but
Ratcliffe's os2aspi.dmd improved things notably in other "speed"
areas (e.g.,
access time, read/write).

I guess now you have to figure out what interacts with os2aspi.dmd during
boot and see if anythings amiss there.
