PE> You know Rod, if you had even 1/10 of my ability, you would PE> have sent a source code fix in reply to my original message. RS> Is that right ? Have fun trying to work out where a bug RS> is when you cant even get it it happen on your system boy. PE> Rod, reread what I said. Paul, go and fuck yourself. PE> YOU can reproduce the problem, so YOU can fix the problem PE> (or at least, you could, if you had 1/10 of my ability). Paul, you were raving on about what had to be provided TO YOU for YOU to work out what was causing that PKT with a wart in it, and YOU cant actually do that on YOUR system if you cant actually get it to do that on YOUR system. So you can posture as being the salvation of us all on everything to do with software if people would only send you want you demand. Some of us who have been dealing with software since before you are born have noticed that your claim is tripe, it aint quite that simple boy. Particularly when you clearly were quite incapable of even being able to notice that the problem you had with your ZIP backups can be due to other than an OS fault. Fairly obvious that you dont actually know everything. RS> I also happen to understand what decent robust software is RS> about too. Unlike some who are into code and pray instead. PE> Actually Rod, you are the king of Vaporware. Fraid not. What I use every day aint vaporware. I have never said that I usually bother to put the extra effort into doing a decent effort on the stuff like the documentation etc to make it viable for others to use, I quite often dont see its likely to be used enough by enough people to bother with that extra effort that doesnt actually do a damned thing for me. Particularly when I have decided that the whole philosophy is wrong having a stand alone system rather than one completely integrated into the editor. In those circumstances I just decide that putting the effort into making that usable by others just aint warranted. If some kid doesnt agree, stiff shit, no one ever asked for his authorisation on that approach anyway. PE> The issue of testing doesn't even enter the equation. Fraid it does. I'm also not into just having a superficial look at something I write and dumping it on the unsuspecting if I cant see any obvious problems just running it once or twice on pathetically inadequate test data. PE> BTW, the only thing where I code and pray (actually, PE> code and then get someone else to test) is PQWK Must be how you managed to produce PKTs which did have a blemish, which whoever wrote the software that moved them thru Fido wasnt silly enough to silently bin, happened. PE> because I don't use it and don't wish to maintain it, and don't PE> have a test environment, and aren't interested. Feel free to take PE> it over, anytime. Mind you, I've noticed your debugging skills, PE> so can't imagine you wanting to take that particular task on. Its an unspeakable piece of shit Paul. Its that basic. I prefer to put my time into stuff which isnt such a piece of shit. But then the other message base software is also a piece of shit too, tho in this case its the user interface thats a complete heap of shit. @EOT: ---* Origin: afswlw rjfilepwq (3:711/934.2) SEEN-BY: 711/934 712/610 @PATH: 711/934 |
