subject: Partial Water Changes?

Water changes are the most widely used way of controlling nitrate
levels in an aquarium. Everyone has their own recommendations on how
many water changes you need to make, but in truth, it's impossible to
tell unless you test the effect that they are having upon your water
and act accordingly.

In some tanks, a monthly 25% water change might be fine for keeping
the nitrate level low, but in others you might need to make a 25%
every week, or change 30-40% every month.

This calculator works out how many water changes, and what size what
changes, you need to make in order to keep the nitrate level at about
the same level as your source water.
