Will speak on Michael's behalf. Hope he doesn't mind. *ALL* of the
current info distributed regarding Preslar's LORD activities of late has
been sent through my LordNews mailing list. I had thought YOU were a
member. So perhaps George you are simply not reading the messages? Email
kaput? Depends on which one you are trying. Anything with {at}lordlegacy.org
is indeed dead. You have to change things to {at}lordlegacy.com. Mike's
primary email is now mike{at}lordlegacy.org. The "distribution"
email account is still the e_maus{at}covingtononline.com address.
LORD 4.07 beta: He has new beta, dated 05/10/03. IT took care of the
problems I and others have been having with maint.bat causing Lord to
declare player.dat is corrupt and then crash. Pawn Shop IGM is now in
2.61.xx testing, as I run through several dozen procedures now and then to
make sure everything works right. Then I'll release v3.00 when Chris
MacPherson has approved it. At any rate, Pawn Shop now does its thing in
maint, and LORD takes over smoothly afterwards. IF you need/want the new
beta, use the "send me lord" message subject in message to his
e_maus email account.
LORD II: He's doing some work on it at present as time permits. See
LordNews issue #13 on my web-site for the FULL details.
http://www.fidotel.com/public/camelot/ccigm-13.htm. Basically he is
checking things out to see how it will go to convert Lord2 to 32-bit code.
Which as you probably know is for the Linux and Windows platforms. Unless I
am mistaken, Gameport doesn't want an OS/2 version of anything. Probably I
think I recall right due to the lack of a large sales target audience for
anything done for OS/2 these days.
TEOS: he's planning work on it as well when possible.
The big news: There is a beta of Lord/32. But you have to specifically
request it from Michael. And then be willing to provide actual bug reports
while using it. Again, for the full "skinny" try writing to
Michael. Perhaps he's been too busy doing his contract programming to
spend time here on Fidonet.
Hope that sums up situation enough for you and others, George.
BTW, next time you wonder what's happening with LORD - LOOK at my Lord
newsletter please. I know its not completely up-to-date, but the truly
important stuff is all there for various authors. Donald
