Hi! Thanks for the response. Sorry I took awhile getting back.

No, the didn't mean I was joking, just trying to be polite & not sound
like a sour-pus. I thought maybe this was just a pretty much dead
echo, didn't think about May being out of season, so to speak.
I live in Austin, but have my house up for sale so I can move down to my
ranch house in South Texas, way out in the country.
We have a 5.5 year old daughter. I guess you could call us "late bloomers"
because I'm 45, about old enough to be her grandpa! We have no intention
of sending our only daughter to public "school" to become a Hitler Youth,
if you'll pardon the expression.
Texas is a "no problem" homeschool state, normally. Our problem is that
our daughter has Downs Syndrome & doesn't talk yet, though she seems quite
bright for her condition. I'm wondering if the state is going to give me
any problems about homeschooling because of her handicap. I suppose only
people homeschooling in Texas could answer that question, but any
experiences from other states might give me some ideas of what to possibly
expect.
I guess I'm a little tardy in joining a national or state homeschool lobby
organization. Let me know if you are aware of any good ones.
Thanks!
