CM> At the time of that incident, I had been out of flight

CM>what they had taught us regarding "Engine Quits" emergency
CM>procedures, but it seems logical to me that if an Engine
CM>Quits, there is either a known, and expected, reason for it,
CM>or it is unexpected. If it is unexpected, seems to me the
CM>logical first step is to switch tanks whether you think you
CM>need to or not. Knowing exactly where the switch is located,

Hi Charles,
Here it is.
1. Change to fullest tank.
2. Mixture full rich.
3. Prop full increase.
4. Throttle cracked.
5. Mags recheck both.
Now if that don't work.
1. Mags off.
2. Throttle off.
3. Prop full decrease.
4. Mixture cutoff.
5. Fuel tanks off.
And I might add, "Fly the Aircraft while you are doing all this and be
looking for the place to land that you already had picked out no further
away than a 45 degree angle down from your upper wing".
Just a personal note. Do you happen to know Bill Greer there from Greer
that went to The Citadel?
