So there is a slim change it might work in plain OS/2, on condition you 
would send to Klaus Staedler the necessary data, which he would need in 
order update Tame/2 scanner.dat .

No money-back guarantee, but it is worth a try imho.

Sane supports fully the hp5200, both parport and USB.

So it should be possible to have it working one way or another with 
Tame/2. Think you'll better ask further and investigate in the Sane-OS2 
group.
