     It wasn't "just someone".  It was many, including
WordPerfect.  However, I agree with you that in mono
font, 2 periods looks better.  In proportional, 1 is
enough, but it pretty much takes care of itself.
     We have had some arguments here about the
punctuation and ).  Grammatik is always arguing with me
over it.  I follow the old rule: if the punctuation
applies to what's in quotes, put it inside, otherwise
outside:
I said, "What did you say?"
Did you just say, "Go sit on a tack"?
