Since 11 october a pre-release version of the OS/2 Warp 3.0 is being sold.
Does anyone know if it is now possible to write a printer-independent
program in C that uses special printer-codes like portrait/landscape etc... ?
There is no fixed C data-structure that defines settings for printing like
portrait/landscape in OS/2. (There is in Windows: DEVMODE) You have to use
a variable-length data-structure that contains different information for
different printers. Anything but printer-indepent...
The problem can be solved by creating your own printer definitions file,
but using the printer driver would be a cleaner and more logical solution.
All comments are welcomed,
Peter.
