Greetings Ed!
RW>>> (Note to Ed: See rulz, more specifically, rule 4a.)
EV> Lately I have had some connection problems when I've been running a
EV> Batch File that runs a Script that I use to transfer BBS packets via
EV> FTP where the DSL Server burps and interupts my .BAT from finishing.
Ok.
EV> All I can figure is just after my FTP session asked for the .QWK to
EV> be made, the BBS made the packet but the connection being interupted
EV> caused me not to get the message between the last one in the earlier
EV> packet, and when I finally got another packet the BBS had already
EV> updated its Message Count for Your Echo and I got the next two
EV> messages sent to me.
The next best thing you could do is log onto Mike's BBS and browse the
echo for messages that you couldn't get in your QWK packets.
EV> I hadn't noticed the missing message number until I looked last night
EV> through the .QWKs and saw that there was one # missing between those
EV> two packets.
Ok. The rules were posted as my msg base number 367 and your reply to
Holgar was number 370...
EV>> I read the ARN in the LS_ARRL echo on this BBS that I usually see
Does he still post what he receives from ARN without removing the
introduction line and each 'Break' included. I edit those out for easier
reading here.
RW>> You don't read the contents of echoes in alphabetical order?
EV> The order the echos are in is set up by the SysOp for the Packet.
If he did it right, his echoes should be in the same order as either the
echolist or backbone.na files. The echolist file is in alphabetical order.
Not sure about the backbone.na file.
EV> From what I can see in the .NDX files the Areas are not in Numerical
EV> or Alphabetical Order. -snip-
That's weird.
EV>> After I found I saved the Rulz sent on 05-05-2014 I did read it.
RW>> I'm not certain, but the rulz are posted here on a weekly
RW>> basis, along with the ARN, auto-robotically.
EV> -snip-
RW>> The idea is to pick out a part of the post you're replying to
RW>> and only quote that with your comments.
EV> If it is the message I sent Holger Thanking Him for giving the
EV> Details of what the entries in those WWV Solar Report messages I
EV> quoted the whole message because I noticed after I pressed the R Key
EV> to start the Reply that the DATA was all jumbled up, but the DATA in
EV> His Message was correctly formatted on the screen when I read it but
EV> I didn't comment about that, I only Thanked Him for the Instructions.
EV> Two Lines, Me Bad.
EV> Holger has tried to help me learn to use another Editor instead of
EV> EDIT but I've went back to EDIT because it is easier for me to use
EV> than the other editing program. I wanted Him to see the mess at the
EV> top of the message so He could comment on it, which He did. -snip-
Your perogative of course, but wouldn't you rather use an editor that
works properly?
EV>> Or is this the Final Notice???? ??
RW>> Final Notice of what?
EV> That I'm BANNED from Posting in this echo.
Ed, only obnoxious morons are banned from this or any other echoes that I
moderate. More specifically, those who have failed to follow the
guidelines posted here after several warnings to shape up.
EV> I've heard from 2 others that You have done that to them in some
EV> other echo(s) that You Moderate.
I'm aware of one, who despises rules and violates them all the time no
matter where he posts. He was banned in AUTOMOTIVE because he said that I
insulted him, which made me realize that he doesn't understand American
English language very well (he's a native) and had failed to read the
rules. Specifically the rule about taking your complaint to the moderator
via other means than 'in the echo' causing a big disruption of same...
The only thing I find about your posts is that you quote a whole lot more
than is necessary. And I don't really care about that, but the one msg
that went overboard was you quoted an entire msg that Holgar posted to add
a three word comment to it.
RW>> Question: Have you ever gone through the order of acception
RW>> procedure of the Whouff Hong? I have and that's a scary thing
RW>> to have in your past.
EV> I stayed after the Midnight Hour at a Hamfest in San Mateo, CA to be
EV> Initiated into the Secret Society of the Royal Order Of The Wouff
EV> Hong.
Same here at a Hamfest in San Diego.
EV> That's ALL that I can say about it in public.
Scared ya that bad eh...
EV> I have Great Fear of those three terrible instruments kept encased in
EV> Newington, Conn. , but have learned that some others have built a
EV> copy of some of those dreaded things and have posted pictures of
EV> their handiwork on their web site.
Obviously fakes.
EV> It is a fearful thing for me to go to a Hamfest thinking that someone
EV> will see the Call Sign on my badge and pull one of those things out
EV> and use it on me.
It isn't so bad...hurts for 2 or 3 seconds and then it goes away.
Have a day!
